Defibrio is a Norwegian medtech company developing a smartphone-based defibrillator. Founded in 2020 by Arne Bergby, the company’s technology turns a mobile phone, connected to electrodes through an app, into a device that can deliver a defibrillating shock. The aim is an affordable, easy-to-use AED available where most cardiac arrests occur – at home, where conventional defibrillators are rarely within reach. Early defibrillation dramatically improves the chance of survival, and Defibrio’s purpose is to make that treatment accessible to everyone.

Kistefos invested in Defibrio in June 2025, becoming its largest shareholder with ca. 16% of the shares.
